Travel backpacks vs. Hiking backpacks

If I am going to be backpacking primarily in cities, is there a difference I should be looking for in a backpack compared to hiking and camping? Most of the ones I see are for this and not city travel.

Good Question.
If you are traveling abroad and spending time in cities, then you really need a travel backpack, NOT a hiking backpack.
A travel pack has different features made for easier organization and quick access. Front loading packs lie flat and open up the entire contents, while top loading hiking packs require you to take everything out.
Hiking packs can be big and heavy. If you spend weeks on the road, then a travel backpack should carry the essentials, not a load that is difficult to move while on a train or bus. And your pack needs to be able to store in lockers while checking out museums or other places.
Some other factors to consider for urban travel include carrying on your pack on airlines and one with a daypack attachment.
Go for a good travel backpack with medium capacity and plenty of outside pockets for storage and easy access. And a good rain cover also acts as a protective shield while walking on city streets.
Enjoy your trip.
