The Osprey Aura 65 Backpack Provides Comfort for the Contours of Female Hikers

The Osprey Aura 65 pack is just one in the series of Aura packs designed specifically to cater to women's body shapes.

Some women hikers complain that many men's backpacks are ill-fitted for their different body contours, so the Aura series provides an excellent alternative.

The main features tailored for women on the Aura 65 pack includes a wider in the collarbone construction with straps that taper down in the chest area to avoid an uncomfortable fit for larger breasted users.

A canted hipbelt allows the pack to ride squarely on the hips and the narrower cut of the belt accomodates the shorter hip to rib distance of many women.

As with any Osprey pack, the Aura 65 provides a backpanel with optimal ventilation and keeps the load closer to your back. The AirSpeed suspension with LightWire alloy frame supports the pack.

Many users liked the overall organization of the Aura 65 pockets and large hipbelt pockets, with the option to use the back ventilation area to store a water bladder if overloaded.

Women with narrow shoulders and more curves felt the harness and hipbelt fit very well, even with the thinner mesh padding. However, if you drop in waist size, the hipbelt is not interchangable.

For some women, the bend in the frame did not allow for a comfortable fit on the back and others had hot spots on their hip bones.

Overall, many women preferred the design features of the Aura 65 pack that provided reliable Osprey quality with added comfort.
