Osprey Atmos 50 BackpackA Solid Choice For Light HikingAlready highly rated, the Osprey Atmos 50 backpack had improvements made to an award-winning design that keeps the pack closer to your back for more support. Good suspension provided by the AirSpeed frame and mesh back panel allows for a glove-like fit that breathes well. Recommended to carry loads up to 40 pounds, the performance sweet spot seems to be around 30 pounds for a balanced load with better weight distribution. The Atmos 50 provides enough main compartment and pocket space for spending 3 to 5 days on the trail. With minimalist loads you can stretch out an outing up to one week. Many backpackers also found the pack to be perfect for hiking the Appalachain Trail or trekking overseas for a few months on the road. Premature fraying of material on the bottom frame set remains a problem for too many users, whether after four days or four months under normal conditions. For pack stuffers, the internal frame makes space tight when inserting uncompressed items.
