Osprey Aether 85 Backpack

A Keeper For The Serious Backpacker

Streamlined and ultra-sturdy, the Osprey Aether 85 backpack carries a heavy load without the heavy feel. A versatile pack, it weighs in at around five pounds and is one of the best fitting models in the market.

Recommended to handle 60 pound loads, users appreciate the well designed features that keep a 50 pound pack stable without pressure points.

If you are searching for a lighter pack with good volume, the Aether 85 fits the criteria and is less expensive than other brands of similar value.

Week long excursions into the backcountry are no problem for this multi-day pack that provides compression straps to tighten the load and secure gear from fishing rods to foam pads.

As a top loading pack, there is no side zippered access to reach inside and limited outside pockets for storage. The top lid is removable to use as a lumbar pack.

Some users disliked the lack of small pockets on the hipbelt and straps that provide handy access to cameras, GPS and snack food. Other annoyances related to difficulties retrieving water bottles and inserting the water bladder with a full pack.
